Incorporating the fundamentals of Pilates, this class follows the classical Beginner/Intermediate mat order, and is appropriate for all students. While Intermediate level exercises may be introduced, modifications are always provided. Although Pilates equipment is not utilized during mat classes, small exercise props such as Magic Circles, weights, bands and balls are often utilized to engage specific muscle groups and assist with body positioning.
Combining essential mat work with the benefits of the Pilates Tower equipment, this class is ideal for students of all levels*. Through a system of springs and bars, the equipment supports the body to ensure proper stabilization and positioning, while providing added resistance for strengthening, toning and lengthening muscles.
*Students new to the studio are required to complete a private session prior to signing up for Tower class.
This option is for the more seasoned Pilates student who can conduct an independent workout without an instructor. All independent workouts must be during times when a teacher is present. Approval by the studio owner is mandatory.
A Duet session is ideal for students with similar levels of Pilates study, who want to experience the “energy” and rhythm of a class, but with more individualized instruction. Rotating among Towers, Reformers and Mat, students receive the benefits of the Pilates equipment through a varied and diverse workout.
Tailored to meet the needs of each individual, a private appointment allows the student to work at his or her own level, and to focus each session on specific needs and goals. I will vary each workout, incorporating all the appropriate Pilates equipment and mat work to provide a personalized experience.
